Our typical client engagement process for new projects involves four tollgates:
Step 1: Project Inquiry: This is usually a basic introduction and high level discussion between a potential client and Engel Design. We share our technical skill sets and capabilities to see if we might be a good fit for your project needs. Typically, an NDA (non-disclosure agreement) will often be mutually agreed upon at the close of this discussion to facilitate the exchange of additional information.
Step 2: Consultation: This is a detailed project discussion in order to get an in depth understanding of the project and the clients specific requirements. Additionally, the clients will have the opportunity to get a firm understanding of our specific technical capabilities, operating structure and billing options.
Step 3: Scope of Work Development: Based on the information received during in the consultation, a detailed Scope of Work document (SOW) for the project will be developed. This Scope of Work will define project scope, activities, deliverables, schedule, costs, and proposed business terms. Engel Design will diligently work with the client to create and refine a Scope of Work that will meet very precise requirements.
Step 4: Project Kickoff: Once the Scope of Work is agreed upon and signed off, Engel Design will then assemble the resources needed to start the project. Typically a kickoff meeting is requested to ensure all stakeholders are engaged and any final questions are answered.
